Adam “Kingy” King joined CSKA in the summer of 2012 from Division 4 rivals Queniborough Park Rangers. Despite an abundance of full-backs already at the club, Kingy settled into the team and established himself in the team.
Legend has it that he returned to QPR after just 5 months on the promise of a rebound board for training sessions. Nonetheless it was a sad day when he departed.
Kingy returned in 2017 however, looking sharper and fitter than ever. Fully committed to his battles on the pitch, he nailed down the left-back position in what was arguably Jon Brice’s strongest back four. A notable moment in the infamous home win versus runaway league leaders Dunton & Bassett when his professional foul sparked an almost entire pitch riot. It quickly diffused itself and CSKA romped home victorious.
King called it a day in 2019 to focus on his fledgling business, but made a return post-covid and played in the most of the curtailed 2020/21 season before finally retiring from the playing.
